Hampi Travel for a Traditional and Religious Holiday in India

Hampi is a laid back village in Karnataka and is the capital of Vijayanagar. It was one of the largest Hindu kingdoms of India and has some excellent captivating ruins that are intermingled with its reared up landscape. During my trip planning I was educated that the ruins here date back to the 14th century and the place has more than 500 monuments. The best attraction is the Vittala temple, dedicated to lord Vishnu with 56 pillars that create music when struck. There are lot more interesting things to share on this, read through to learn more on Hampi.

Hampi Overview:
Hampi is located in Central Karnataka about 350 kilometres from Bangalore. The closest station is Hospet and private buses operate from Goa and Bangalore to drop at Hospet, from there it is easy to reach Hampi by Auto. The ruins of the city could be explored at leisure, whereas the Vittala temple is open for 8 hours daily. It is good for single women travelers in Hampi to reach these destinations a little early to beat the crowd.

Hampi Festivals:
For ladies who love the culture of India, it is good to plan their vacation during the Hampi Festival held late in January every year. There is enough fireworks, music, drama and puppet shows around the event. There are ample things to do in Hampi; both to explore and enjoy but western ladies need to bear with the local crows at festival seasons. There are festivals that occur against the ruins almost the whole year.

Travel Tips:
Single women travelers can surely fee the incredible energy felt here, the sunset and rise over the village that could be witnessed from the top of the Matanga hill is worth not a miss, and offers a magical gesture. It is good to have the best shoes, while ruins need to be accessed by foot. A ferry trip across the river to reach Anegondi is good to explore the relics. Solo Women travelers could also hire a cycle to get around. There are possibilities for night tours, but it is good for women stay safe in their accommodations at night. The best time to visit is between Novembers to February, as the country gets hot after March. Dress code is a must in India, and it is better for women travelers to abide by the local tradition and custom.

Accommodation:

This is one drawback of Hampi and it lacks quality hotels. Hospet is the best choice to stay better. There are plain furnished guest houses available in Hampi and it is best to stay close to the bus stand and main bazaar in Hampi that offers the best sights of the landscape and are relatively safe and cheap as well.

The banks of the river Virupapur Gadde offers the best cool breeze for tourists to relax and rejuvenate in their Hampi travel, the paddy fields at its coasts offer the best hippie types. To learn more on Hampi travel and attractions, visit triphobo.com.
